Parks Volunteer Opportunities & Frequently Asked Questions

Volunteers
Volunteer are the number one asset to the Parks Department. If you would like to join the many individuals and groups who volunteer their time each year we want to hear from you! Contact the Parks office at (615) 792-2655 or Email Tony.

Board of Parks & Recreation
We have an opening on the board at this time. Now, for the first time you do not have to be a resident of Ashland City to serve. Meetings are held on the third Thursday of each month at the Parks & Recreation Office at 6:00 p.m. If you, or someone you know, may be interested in attending the meetings or serving on the board contact the Parks office at (615) 792-2655 or Email Tony.

Q. Can I reserve a pavilion?
   
a. Pavilions are reserved primarily for community events. Individual events may also be allowed based on first come first serve basis. Call the Parks office for availability (615) 792-2655 or Email Tony.
   

Q. What is the distance of the Preacher Poole Walking Track?
   
a. (.6) six tenths of a mile
   

Q. Is it legal to kill poisonous snakes on park property?
   
a. No it's illegal to kill/disturb any plant or animal on park property.
   

Q. Can I ride my horse on the Bicentennial Trail?

Horses are not allowed because of growing use of the trail.

   

Q. Can I ride a motorized vehicle (i.e. motorcycle, four wheeler, etc.) on the trail?
   
a. No, motorized vehicles are prohibited.
